I haven't read the whole link but there is the slight problem of Dumbledore having a brother; unless another Weasley time-travels with him, I don't see how this will happen.

Ok, remind me. Is the brother named? Mentioned? Seen by anyone? If DD mentioned he has a brother, that's certainly consistent with Ron's many brothers, though if he's been seen or named in some way that is a problem.

From Mugglenet:

[Aberforth Dumbledore] was once prosecuted for "practicing inappropriate charms on a goat" [GOF24]. He is "a grumpy-looking old man with a great deal of long grey hair and a beard" who is the innkeeper of the "dodgy" Hog's Head [OOTP16]. He was a member of the Original Order of the Phoenix; Moody met him only once and described him as a "strange bloke" [OOTP9]. He also caught Snape eavesdropping on Trelawney's prophecy [HBP25].

As I sit waiting for the opportunity to read (my wife has first dibs of course) I can only curse those of you who already are part way through the book.

Finished 20 minutes ago and just allowed myself back on the internet.

Kayser Soze is Voldemort!

I've finished. Chance has finished. When are we going to pick this book apart?

(Only two of my predictions were right.)

Chance

I definitely thought there was going to be a higher body count.

JohnB

You were hoping for a higher body count so you could give Amy a hard time about it.

So, clearly the "Weasley is Dumbledore"idea was pretty definitively demolished in the first few pages.

Overall, I thought the book was good, but I told Amy that she could EASILY skip about 200 pages in the middle and be none the worse for wear.

I completely didn't care about Dumbledore's misspent youth, nor the boring camping/running/hiding trip that Ron, Hermonie, and Harry take in the middle of the book. Plus, you can't convince me that there would not be serious sleepingbag swapping among the three of them, given that they were a) 17, and b) unsupervised. The idea that Ron and Herm wait until the very last pages to actually kiss is simply silly.

I liked it, but it didn't live up to expetations, and I'm in mourning for Lupin and Tonks (poor little teddy, though aparently he grows up to be somewhat of a *ahem* wolf.

Chance

I really thought there would be at least one more Weasley dead. My guess would have been Percy or Ron.
That said I enjoyed the book immensely. Truly with all the hype surrounding this book there was no way it could live up to it.
